I hate to do this. Another 700r4 question?

I have my truck running now (replaced old 350tbi with new carbed 350)

I have read all the info I can on adjusting the TV cable and I followed these to the letter. I have all the proper parts for geometry. Nothing is "jury rigged"

a. Adjustments are made with the engine off. Locate the Adjust Tab on the cable housing. Press in the tab and push the slider as shown in Figure 3.
b. Release the tab and rotate the throttle lever to WOT and the cable will self adjust itself as evidenced by a few audible clicks. Release the throttle lever and check the cable for any signs of binding or sticking.

After adjustment per the instuctions my trans runs fines, no stacked shifts pulls great........until you try to "stomp it". The trans acts like it just goes "free wheeling". Does not want to pull and the rpms go way up.

can anyone pass anymore info this way so I can find out whats wrong or have I done something wrong?

what Louey said, I have a 90 vette and I did it the same way you listed in your post. a GM mechanic friend of mine said have some one inside while you hold the button down mash to WOT and release the button then have them release the pedal.

The internet recipes for TV cable geometry differ from the aftermarket 700r4 throttle arm you can buy nearly everywhere. IMO the "bought" arm had very normal and early shifts. The arm I made using the internet recipe returns the cable 3/16" less at idle and gives an almost shift-kit like 1-2 and 2-3 shift under light throttle. Although t he shifts are a bit late and firm under light throttle, they are VERY smooth under heavy throttle, I'd almost say "sliding" from one gear to the next as if the transmission doesnt let go of the lower gear right away when shifting into the next gear.
Is this how these transmissions operate normally? If so, will a B&M kit firm up the shifts?
