    Try to find one local.

700r4 is a great transmission--(as long as it isn't leaking)

make sure the t.v cable is adjusted right!

Also.If I remember correctly the 700r4 is longer which will require a different crossmember and drive shaft. Some one correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't think the 700R is a great transmission, it is popular though. Plent of folks building these trannys and you will need at least a level 2 build for your HP #'s. Here's a couple of links both are for trannys up to 500HP and around 450 FTlbs of torque.

[QUOTE=91camaro248;396182\ does anyone know where i can find built 700r4's that will handle 450+hp and to converter around 2500-2800 less then $1000?????????????? i have found a cple on ebay but have no idea if they r junk or not. comes with 2400 stahl and its $785 shipped.

As the old saying goes, "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is". I don't run automatics much myself, but I have run them enough to know that $785.00 shipped for a trans and converter is NOT going to handle 450 hp for any length of time!!!! Rather then trying to sift through a bunch of bs claims in advertisements, why not find a local reputable tranny shop with an owner or manager who does performance trannies and see what he can put one together for...then when it doesn't shift anymore who have someone to talk to about it at least.... IMO, the 700R4's are very overrated and I can't think of anyone here locally who's running one that hasn't had a bunch of problems with them when used in any sort of high horsepower setup.
