700r4 with allen screws holding front seal in.........
I have a 84 chevy with a 83 700r4 transmission and after (a quick freshing up).......
I found that my front pump housing had been modifed at some point.
There are 2 allen head screws (with thread) holding my front seal in place.
Has anybody ever heard of this?
Has anybody ever seen this?
Was this done in a recall? Is this normal?

Early 700's had a problem with the convertor seal blowing out of the pump. The first fix was to install the seal with red Loctite, then General than came out with a steel clip that retains the seal (still used to this day). Later pumps had a larger/re-engineered fluid drainback hole that mostly eliminated the problem.

Sprayed the cab, it's a long story, I had to re shoot it. Color sanding and buffing it now.
