    I bought a muncie..was this a good idea?

I've been looking for a nice gearbox for my 32 Tudor Sedan for a while. Decided a while ago that i wanted a manual box. Unfortunately there isn't a great deal of choice over here, so when this M20+hurstshifter+clutch+flywheel+bellhousing came up for grabs i went to look at it.
I took the side plate off first to check that there were no broken teeth or any nasties. All looked fine so i bought it.

The gearbox has been drained of oil, there is evidence of old dirty oil on the gears. The syncros look pretty new too me. If you see the bellhousing picture, there has been a new fork arm pivot fitted, so i am wondering if it may have been rebuilt at some time??

The shifter was stuck with rust. Some 3in1 oil and movement soon freed it up. Again, this make me think it hasn't been used in years.
Although it bolts on the side of the box the shifter may be still be in the wrong place for a 32 with a bench seat, unless i can find another angled shifter lever to replace it.

Shifter knob is also broken, i guess these are available?

    The gearbox numbers are P4R18A, 3925661, 14S406912
Which makes it a 1974 oct 18M20 wide ratio

The flywheel markings are S973456N 168T, i am having trouble finding what engine it was fitted to.

Overall i am pleased (i think)
It's an oldie alright...but is it a goodie??

(I will probably need some advice from experts on here to help me set this up)

    Edit:Maybe i wasn't clear...I would also like to hear people's opinions on muncie m20 gearboxes y'know...do's and don't's etc
