Hello i have a 78 monte carlo and just built a motor for it. I put in a new torque converter used the th-350 tranny and the motor is balanced and built just a little. But about every two weeks i lose the torque converter bolts and dont know why anything will help i just need to fix it.
Do the bolts tighten up good?? Is the convertor metric or SAE?? TH350s came with either one. Is it possible you are using sae bolts in a metric unit?? There's always loc tite 271 if all else fails.
If the bolts are correct---could/probably a balance/harmonic from engine, flywheel, bad harmonic dampner, u-joints, driveshaft----
Ya I was gonna ask if he felt any vibration in the car going down the road.

If yer spittin out torque convertor bolts,sumthin ain't balanced!!
stuff em back in with sum loctite and try 1 more time.

some of the fly wheels have slotted holes i drill them to a bigger size bolt (if you can) this help s with better clamping force . i use grade 8 bolts and jam nuts
Also, while this may be obvious, I figure I'll add it, just in case. Did you torque them on to specs for your application? You probably did, but just in case you didn't know, there are torque specs for this. For my applications it was pretty tight!
i used red loctite and they screw in the converter they have no nut.
