I don't know what will stop the retainers for the synchros you are talking about from breaking. Do you think it was from hard shifting when you were racing, or?

Most of my time in the seat will be simple cruising, and hopefully some Auto cross (Slalom), where hard shifts are not needed. I like to drive somewhat spirited, but I don't go crazy..
