There are a bunch of floorshift conversion kits to do this, but one word of advice........buy a quality shifter like a Hurst. It will cost you a little more but a cheap floorshifter is a pain in the butt. We had one years ago, a Sparkomatic, I think, and the darned thing would occasionally jam between two gears. Had to put the front wheels up on a curb and climb under many times to free it up.:(
As long as you are doing it do it right and you will have years of enjoyment from it. Hurst even makes a pickup truck version with a longer handle.

Ditto - use the Hurst Mastershifter. They are hands down the best 3 speed shifter for Chevy trucks. Cost about $175-200, including the long handle for trucks that have te stock bench seat.
That sound good, I had been looking at the Hurst shift, thanks guys.
Your truck will also pick up a few hundred HP with a Hurst in there. :D:D

UGH... don't do it!! R&R the column and freshen it up. 3 on the tree is a dying breed.
Sorry, didnt notice date of post.... sure by now it's too late...
HE! HE! HE! I think we have all done that at one time or another Weasel Diesel. I hope it's done by now anyway.

This thread had me remembering back when we would teach our GFs to shift gears for us so we could keep our right arm around them while we drove. Some of them were good at it, and some, not so good.:LOL:

Wow - I remember those days. Had a '57 'vette and I loved having a girl ride in the midst of me an one of my buddies - as I recall, second gear was my favorite:rolleyes:
