I need recommendations on a tranny setup for my '68 Galaxie 2dr fastback. I will be running a '69 460 with about 425HP and 550 lbs of torque. The car will be mainly used on the street with an occasional run to the strip.

The car came factory with a standard tranny and has all the linkage. What 3 or 4 speed could I run? Should I go with an automatic?

I like the idea of grabbing gears with a stick but I think an auto might hookup better.

Any thoughts?
