I purchased the interior electronics for the tranny, the cable, the cable bracket and the throttle adaptor from Bowtie overdrives, so I feel pretty confident the parts are all correct. I know that setting the cable is critical for the tranny to work right and last a long time, and there in lies the problem. I have tried what I have read and this is what I 've got: the slider on the cable is as far back (away from the carb) as it will go, and the cable itself is tight. It seems that if I let the slider move forward, then the cable gets too loose. I did not set the cable with a pressure gauge... Sooooo, is it to be expected that the slider should be out somewhat???? I read where the cable needs to be tight at the idle position. thanks - kip
