I've got a 700r4 out of an 86 camaro that I want to put in Daddy's 72 c-10.
The car it came out of was abused, so I want to rebuild it before I use it.
My question is, has anybody out there rebuilt one? Are there any recommendations on who sells a good kit, and are there any tips?

JC Whitney sells a DVD that will walk you through complete teardown, inspection, and rebuild for about $30.00. You just order the one for the trans you're rebuilding. I bought the one they had for a TH-350 and it made the job really easy. Turned out perfect.

You'll need a clutch compressor whether it's the 700R4 or the TH350. Always install new lip seals and square cut seals or you'll be back to square one quickly.
Anybody else need a 700R4 core? Got one laying in the garage---cheap or trade!!!!
