Hey guys I have this 4 speed tranny I am planning to rebuild for my 35 chevy project. It came with a parts car I purchased, The guy told me it was a Muncie 4 speed out of a 69 GTO. Look for an adams apple or a bulge that shouldn't be there if you know what I mean... :D

Weren't the Muncies from that period cast in Aluminum? 1986lt1boy's pic shows some rust like a cast iron would.
I did find this too: http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/4-sp...-d-127950.html

Thank you all for the help. It seems like I have a truck tranny that was mentioned in pelligrini's link. Now I can start my drive train project.
Thanks again guys :)

Muncies had the reverse lever in the back of the trans, same as Borg-Warners. The only trans that had the reverse lever in the side cover for that era was a good old Saginaw. All cast iron (had one in a '68 Camaro).
