not a hotrod but...

here's the scoop. I just bought a 1994 Ford Tempo 2.3 4cyl/ Auto, near mint for $500. it has a problem tho, not a big 1 but. the rear transmission mount is broken, the PO bought 1, and I just have to put it in. Power braking ran across my mind, but when I researched it, the rear mount is prone to breaking, it's a giant peice of rubber, with 2 threaded shafts on each end, and the rubber seperates in the middle. anybody w/ experience w/ these? gotta fix it asap. were gonna limp it home tomorrow.


This car is just a winter beater, I did transfer the reggie off the Falcon to get it road legal tho. :(

Found out that there is 2 mount types, hydraulic and solid rubber. my replacement is the solid rubber. I went thru it today, everything works except the air conditioning is a little low and blows a bit too warm of air I think, but the compressor does come on, it's 134A refigerant so a trip to walmart for refigerant will fix that when it comes time to. the 2.3 runs great no noises and a quiet exhaust, and the trans shifts fine.

Oh and the tire size is the same as the Falcon so I can use up the good winter snow tires the Falcon has on the rear, cause that car will never see a winter, and I waz gonna throw them out anyhow. Also dressed the car up with some bling bling arleady. had 4 Mercedes hub caps from an old mercedes I junked a while back, they fit right on lol...
