Going to the Junkyard for some parts.
Well this weekend, I'm off to the junkyard for a new transmission for my car, mine works, but I want a backup that I can rebuild when I get a chance. If I cannot find the 6cyl C4 I need, I'm coming back with a trans anyhow, just might
be a Manual, that I will replace my C4 auto with, when I get a chance. Ither a 3.03 3spd, Granada/ Monarch 4spd ( 3+1 Overdrive toploader ) or a 4cyl Ford T5 transmission. I gotta say, I hope I don't find the Auto.
If I got the 4cyl T5, would the shifter from an S10 T5 work? I wouldn't be able to stand the short dorky looking shifter the 4cyl Mustang/ T bird T5 trans would have, not in the Falcon NE way
You don't know what you've got til it's gone

I would like the Granada/ Monarch 4spd actually. more of a direct fit into a Falcon, and it's actually a re geared toploader, and theres a possibility of finding it in a 200 car so i could get everything needed. But I'll still grab a T5 if I'm not lucky enough to get a granada 4spd. if i find a '68- up 200 powered 3spd mustang/ falcon, i'll get the 3.03 3spd, cause I can get everything there 4 the swap. You don't know what you've got til it's gone

in a diffrent junkyard I saw a totaled mustang w/ 20k miles, not shure but I think it was a DOHC 4.6, aren't the 5.4 DOHC's kinda rare? I almost snagged that engine, would have been $130 if I did, just didn't have timeYou don't know what you've got til it's gone

From what I can ascertain, the 5.4 DOHC is an option engine in the Lincoln Navigator, not sure what else they were available in, but I'd sure like to find one!!!! Ford SVT sells the block, available in aluminum with the 6 bolt mains if you want to part with the big $$$$$$.... They also have the 4.6 available in aluminum with the 6 bolt mains... I would really like to find a 5.4 DOHC for the Ranchero...Big horse and big torque with a supercharger.....

If I find a newer mustang with an IRS that is not mangled in the rear, I'll see if I can remove it, and if I see a linclion nav, i'll check. I'll probably come out w/ more than a transmission anyway...You don't know what you've got til it's gone

I would take it but the granada 8" is a little too wide to be bolt in, and I want a 4 lug so I can retain
