Techinspector - solid engine and tranny mounts?

Richard, if you see this thread, can you tell me whether solid engine and tranny mounts are required in a particular class of drag racing? I just picked up this '69 Nova, but it's been built purely for drag racing. I want to replace at least the solid tranny mount as I go through the process of making it streetable, but would like to know the logic that went into the build first. The builder of the car died, and I only have some of his notes.

    Thanks!

No, to my knowledge there is nothing in any of the rules about whether you install the motor/trans with solid or flexible mounts. Solids are used by racers because they're bulletproof and a motor plate on the front of the motor will allow more room in the engine bay for headers and such.

Either use solid motor/trans mounts or flexible motor/trans mounts together. Do not use solid at one end and flex at the other.
