Tremec TKO600
I wondered if anyone has experience (good/bad) of these new 5-speed trannys? I'm thinking of fitting one (road-race ratio, so .82:1 5th, and running a 3.31:1 axle) to my 68 Iso Grifo 7-Liter. This will be strictly for road use, with the occasional 1/4 mile on the strip, just for fun. At the moment I have a Super T-10 4-speed with 2.88 rear.
I've read some adverse reports of the TKO600 on another forum, but these guys were slam-shifting at 7000rpm on the drag strip...
Cheers,
Chris

I don't know anything about your Grifo 7 but I have a 30 coupe with a built 283 & a 350:1 rear. I swapped out a T10for a TKO600 & I love it. Woke the coupe up big time with the change in ratio as I run 30" tires on the rear. I use it on the street only & bang off shifts at 5 - 6 thou all the time with no problems.

I have used them before and put another one in my truck. I haven't ever had any problems with them.

They are a great tranny, but I would recommend a lower rear gear with it, something in the 3.50-3.73 range. I have installed them in alot of customers vehicles without any complaints.Last edited by mrmustang; 06-11-2007 at 01:24 PM.
Another question, I was told this engine takes 6 quarts of oil. Is that correct? It's a remanufactured 350 with stock pan.
