    66 Mustang trany fluid?

     



    What type of fluid should I put in my wife's 66 automatic tranny? Thanks!

    i have heard that you can use mercon dextron or type f i have always just used type f Denny im running mercon dextron in my c6 that wont hurt it will it?
    Honda Motor= 1.6L
    Soda Bottle= 2L

    My tranny guy made Me run Dextron 2 in My C-4 in My 41 Ford.
    It's been 6 years now still works Great.......Grabs 2 rubber...

    if your trans runs type F now, you NEED to run type F, if you have it freshly rebuilt, dry, use whatever you want, just you can't switch to somthing else after you filled it up. '66 Mustang Cruisomatic C4 would have Type F originally.

    call the previouse owner and ask what he/she put in it. if you put the wrong stuff in, you likely may need a trans rebuild.
