Probably a lot better places to save money then on a clutch...I've never had any luck with reman clutches, seems about a half dozen launches and it's slipping. Maybe it was from bad vendors (doubt it) but I'll spend the extra $$$$ and get a new clutch every time since then...
I've only done one clutch job in the last few years, on a 292 Chevy 6-banger with a granny 4-spd. I had the flywheel surface ground and installed a new Centerforce disc and plate, along with all new linkage. That was the nicest driving manual I think I've ever driven. I would not hesitate to buy Centerforce again.
With a reman clutch, they will (should) replace the pressure plate springs, resurface that now very hard heat affected surface and clean it up. The disc has new lining rivited on it and may have the springs replaced. This is fine for grampa's car. A hard driven or performance vehicle, it is bound to fail - at least my history speaking.:confused: :CRY:
