anti balooning plate
is an anti ballooning plate on the torque converter necessary if you have a small shot of nitrous like 100 hp shotLast edited by seansz28; 04-30-2007 at 01:50 PM.

that's a hard question to answer, I doubt you'll get a square yes or no. Nitrous is a touchy subject that can either help you or hurt you in the snap of the fingers, and sometimes if you aren't very very careful with it, it can hurt things very violently.
I built an LS6 for a guy once that blew the bellhousing off of his original LS2. It took the rear section of the block out. He was running a 200 shot.
I would say better safe than sorry. I'd rather spend the extra dollars now and know that it will be okay than cross my fingers and pray, because in the event that your converter does balloon, it's a long way in to fix the problems it could potentially create.

I would say no. A 100 hp shot is close to entry level, when you start getting up above 200 or staging as in multiple stages I would start to be concerned.

Anti-balloon plates or for engines that make BIG torque, like diesels. I don't think it's necessary with a 100 shot, especially in a light car. This isn't behind a big block is it?

Hmm... in that case, I would lean towards the anti-balloon plate. It's better to spend a little extra now than risk wiping out the thrust bearing on your crank.
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
