leaky front trans seal

I have a 72 Chevelle, which has been stored about 6 yrs. Recently I
cranked the engine, had to put trans fluid in it, but it drove real good.
Rather than pull the trans out and replace the front seal, are there any
quick fixes to this leaking problem? If so, how long do you think it would
last?

Nomatter who tells you, don't try brake fluid.

or stop leak, band aid fixes are no good because they create problems later on. stop leak will work great for a radiator for example but given time, it will clog coolant passages in the cylinder head/ block and create problems

For radiators, use Barrs-leak tablets. They will not clog anything.

Dang Denny, I figured you would have passed on the good old Black Pepper method.

Pulling the tranny and replacing the seal is the only way to fix it. Dumping junk in the transmission to try to stop the leak will eventually trash the tranny....

As mentioned do not forget the bearing,no need to inspect it at 6 bucks for a new one,otherwise leak will return soon.
Ohh as mentioned also ,liquid fixes in a can insure the entire trans is shot when you finally have to pull it.
