by the way, it's a 4 speed auto, not 5. it can take some abuse, not doubt. my 82 k5 blazer has one. i don't have 300hp, but i take it offroad whenever i get a chance and it's going strong. my 94 c1500 has the 4l60e, which is similar. basically a computer controlled version. it's not doing half bad, either.
