Thread: C-6 trans question

I have a 67 C-6 behind a 390 in my 65 country squire and its slipping between 2nd and 3rd,it never shifted too good between those gears since I installed the trans but its getting worse. The trans was rebuilt about 60,000 milse ago but has been over 20 years,could this be a simple repair or is it time for the trans shop. Jeff

I don't know if it will help, but you could try adjusting the intermediate band. There are directions for the C6, just scroll down the page on this link:

Slipping on 2-3 upshift probably isn't the band, its the high gear clutch pack. Kickdown linkage adjustment or filter change might do it, but it sounds like overhaul time.
