I just got a (free) good used 5-speed transmission out of a 1988 S10 blazer. The previous owner told me it was from the larger V6 model which can be used with a SBC. After having it delivered, I now see that it is from the small 2.8L and will not work. Will a larger bellhousing fit this trans so that it can be converted for use with a SBC, or is the trans all together different? I was hoping to put this in my 40. Thanks in advance for any help.
