I'm working on a S10 blazer and want to retain the 700r4 transmission, I have a 283 chevy smbl that I am planing to put in it, I have noticed that there are alot of wiring on the transmission is there any simple way around this?

all of the people that make wiring harnes has the kits, but here are some things you can do yourself. summit i'm sure has a kit.Quote:

there are three wires going into the trans one should have 12 volts going to it it will be the front outside wire if you want the converter to lock up only in fourth gear you need power there at all times the other two wires are 4-3 downshift and 4th signal on 99% of 700s build for fuel injected motors. if you splice the other two wires together you will have a curcuit that works only in forth gear . If you want to test weather this will work once you have 12 volts going in if you put a test light on either of the other wires one should make the light be half bright when you splice the wires together the light should be half bright at the splice if not you need to replace the 4th gear normaly closed switch with a normaly open one simple and no parts and you don't have to open the trans
