Trans Temp Gauge Sender on TH350
Hi getting ready to install the sender unit. Been told to place in pan, or on out line to cooler. Any other places to place sender? I was told some place near the shift linkage? Is that correct? Any other places? Help is greatly welcomed. Thanks.

Weld a boss in the rear side of the pan, out of harm's way. If your ride is really low, a can spliced into the pressure line to the cooler will work , too. Make sure you don't get the return line, you'll get false readings.

why would you want to put it anywhere else. the idea it to get a reading on fluid temp. and the pan is the place. i heard people say they screw them into the pressure test plug, but far as i know you are just checking how hot the case is, not the fluid. i want to know what the temp. of the fluid is after it goes through the cooler so you'll know if the cooler is working properly, and that would be the pan or line, but it really don't make a dif. where you check it, as long as it stays consistence.Originally posted by jkerul
