Installing a turbo 350 to a 348?
Hello,
I have a 1959 Chevy Impala im building and was wondering if anyone knew what I would have to do to install a Turbo 350 or 400 tranny on my Bigblock 348? I was wondering what parts I would need to do for the conversion. The car came with a Cast iorn powerglide and its very exspensive to have rebuilt and is hard to get parts for and that is why I want to convert it to a 350/400 tranny. Any help would greatly be appreciated thank you.

I used to switch between 409s (same type engines as 348s) and a solid lifter 327, in my '62 Biscayne (same chassis). I used the same flywheel, bellhousing, and starter for both.
I think it's a bolt on.

yep! as long as it fits on the flexplate on the big block and the donor trans didn't come off a 400 mouse block with external balanced crank!. Im going to go with a turbo 350, my Brother has a fairly new one in his car and was thinking of parting it out so I might see if I can get the tranny from him. Man im getting excited to get my baby on the road
