    all right guys im going in sooooo many differnt ways an lookin for a new tranny for my sreet strip car (more strip) i was thinin a th 400 but i know that take like 30% of ur hp right? an man i think every one here loves there hp so i dont know if i wnan go that way the i was thinkin a powerglide money is nuthin im 17 with a great job an right know my car is makin me happy so all my money goes to her then i was.... an way geting back on track i was also think a th 350 beefed up a little does any one know how much hp that takes? any way thanks... an ideas would be loved cya

    a 350 taking 30% of your horsepower ? that seems kinda high, were did you get that from, not saying it cant be right but ??? . anyway my brother had a 69 chevelle with about 375 hp and he put 40K on so far without any tranny problems. a 400 is definatly stronger but if the right guy ( my brother in law ) builds the tranny to suit the need, i dont think you will have a problem, not right away anyhow

    The Chevelle is too heavy for a PG, you need more than 2 gears. I'd be thinkin' 700R4 with its deep first gear for acceleration and tall 4th gear for cruisin'.
