Let me begin, I am not a expert on engine rebuilding but, will give you a general guide line....A 350 in3 engine producing more than 400 hp will not be pleasant to drive daily on the street.
If you want a streetable 350 look at the components in a zz4 engine. The crate version costs around $3800 complete w/carb.
Engine experts step in....BTW-I buy all my parts from Summit or jegs.Last edited by Don Meyer; 01-25-2005 at 04:20 AM.

With that high horse engine your stock type sprag won't last. You will want extra clutches and other hi-perf parts. Try these guys. http://dragtrans.com/Racing-Transmissions.html or these guys www.bulkpart.comLast edited by BOBCRMAN@aol.; 01-25-2005 at 07:24 AM.

First off LT1 im building an engine but needed input on how to build up the tranny to handle the large engine. This will not be a daily driver btw, its just going to be a toy. Thanks for the input. Mike..

JMO if you've got a good trans. id put a good shift kit in it and try not to jerk it around to much and go for it. if it needs a rebuild id add a few extra clutch to the clutch packs and put in a good shift kit and try not to jerk it around to much. a trans will stand a lot until you start abusing it. may need a good stall conv. before its all over with.Mike
