3 speed Transmision for 1964 chevy 327
This one is a tough one people. Need to bolt a 700r4 or th350 to a 1964 327 chevy engine. Do I need an adaptor for the starter. How about a flex plate. Currently I am running a 56 cast iron powerglide and the engine already has an adaptor installed. I don't know if the powerglide bolt pattern matches the trannys I am looking at.

Doing the same with a 283, but had the aluminum PG. Bought the ShiftWorks conversion kit to keep the original console shifter for use with a cable hookup. Its slick. Everything bolts right up. Might have to do a mod on the trans crossmember. Weather turned cold so don't have it all in yet.
DO have a question tho. The kickdown rod sticking out of a hole in the trans case hangs out about 3/4". This prevents the kickdown cable from seating against the case and sealing the hole. Why? Naw, Streets, that aint in the book.Don't have a clue and proud of it.
Older is better.

If you plan to install a 700r 168 tooth you can use a starter from an 82 vette and lokar has a nice tv cable setup for the 700 also .

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
