How do your kits get thru the Connecticut DMV? Are they considered "composite vehicles"? Would I end up getting stuck with the "smog tax"? Do your frames have legal VIN numbers?

If you have proper Title and it matches the VIN there is no inspectionQuote:

Unless its a lost or has a salvage you should have no problems
I live in NY but have a summer place in CT and I use which ever state is easier to register the vehicle
EDIT...Your not talking about the 60 are you? Sorry
Thats just it...
Does the Total Performance kits have a VIN? Or do I have to go to the DMV to get one assigned to the car... If I have to go thru the DMV for a VIN assignment, Does it have to be registered as a 2006 composite making it get slammed with all sorts of modern vehicle requirements (like emmisions compliance for example)? I researched this a bit and it seems that Total Performance dances around this topic...
Last time I dealt with this problem was with a boat trailerQuote:

Can you please fill me in on what you are attempting to register in CT?
Thanks

Total Performance gives you a MSO or Manufacture's State of Origin. Total Performance company is located in Wallingford Conneticut, I'd bet sombody from there staff knows what to do. Email Brian Mccalister from T performance ( spellings wrong but he normally deals with the Emails and is very knowlagable ) he probably knows how to get them registered.Quote:

Believe me, I know what I am talking about, I just went thru this whole mess getting a converted dirt bike registered as a street bike and I had to go thru CT composite vehicle inspection program. The rules are pretty strict for a bike, and and even moreso for autos. Just wondering how Total get their kits thru the dmv with out such things as bumpers, fenders, cats etc etc... And if me purcahsing this 32 is even worth the hassle in CT...
Everyone tells me to email Total directly, but I was looking for real life experiences from the public at large..
Yeah, but it's a TP frame. They may put a MSO out for each frame - and the public at large won't be able to verify that. Only TP can.
and they come from CT, sombody there will know from experience. as I said before. Brian Mccallister knows his stuff, his direct Email is on this site somewhere.
edit, he is a CHR member, representitive of Total Performance as they are an advertiser here on CHR. here is his profile, send him an email thru it. http://clubhotrod.com/forums/member.php?u=3936
Huh? Not sure I follow....Quote:
