    78 dodge van suspension

Would it be possible to use the suspension from a 78 dodge van for my 49 plymouth? What I need to know is would it set too high? or can the suspension be lowered easily. Or will it set like a normal car when off the van frame? I got the van in the lot of cars, its got my 318 I have been looking for with an auto tranny, so I figured I would use all I can out of it. Steering, suspension, seats and floor pan. Just worried the suspension will be too high.

Also how do you cut a rear end? I think this one will be too long so I want to cut it down. or have someone cut it down.
