Got any pics? Close up shots of the front end? I assume the newer GM front was grafted onto the stock '55 frame? First things I would look at are the welds. Are they good (Safe) welds, Was it put together straight? Was it built and never used or does it have some (test) miles on it? If it's been run with the new front end chances are better it's built safe. Once you've determined it's safe, then ask youself if it looks good. Was the upgrade done well or just thrown together? That's just what comes to mind, hard to tell without seeing how it was installed.
