I'm new to Hot Roddin so please bear with me! Just bought a '38 Ford pickup which is original except for a GM 350 engine and some GM tranny. I want to first put in a new front suspension and have heard about the Mustand II type option. I've also heard that suspensions out of other cars can be swapped in for a lot less money (from a wrecking yard). Thoughts? Ideas? Which car/truck would best provide a donor front suspension? I've responded to this question from others and I'll give you the same answer. On my 37 chevy(wheel base shoud be the same as your 38 ford) I put in a AMC Pacer front end. This was used years ago, but the mustang ll and others have taken it's place. The pacer front end comes with a rack and disc brakes which you definitely want if your going to be running a bigger block that the flattie you probably have now. I've had no problems in the last 3 years.
