09-11-2017 04:17 PM #1Grease fittings for urethane bushed joints?

I used heim joints with grease fittings on the rear four bars for a long time, and then replaced them with urethane bushings when I re-engineered that to use a Mustang II triangulated link arrangement. A few years down the road now and the joints squeak.

The heim joints all had grease fittings, but there's no provision for that with the urethane bushings. It's a lot more trouble to take the joints apart to apply a little grease between the bolt and the metal bushing than it would be to use a grease gun, so I'm asking what others do, if anything is done at all.

 Thanks for your opinions.

Someone else just had a thread on here with the same question(s) and there was a few responses.. but I haven't been able to find it yet with a search. I'll keep searching, and maybe they'll reply.

That was me and they still squeak, it drives me nuts. I'm putting grease zerks in them this winter or before if I can't handle it anymore. If that don't work I'm just going to stop hitting bumps.Seth

I was going to replace some bushings in my truck with urethane, but every time I decide too this kind of complaint comes up and I end up not installing.... Toys

A friend had a set made for the front of his 34, with UHMW Plastic (Ultra High Molecular Weight) and he said it solved his problem(s)... No more squeaks.
