i used both on the street for over 30 years the last was a locker were i was thinking a car at3800 and 950 hp would need 35 spline axles and a locker would be the best for the job??? and was the only thing i could get for the bigger spline axles . well i do not care for the locker. first thing it busted was my 400 trans art carr/coan trans on the street .with a locker there is some roll out/free play when you go in to a turn it,s a bang sound well what happened was i got on the car hard like i allways do got off it then my foot right back in it then hit 2 gear then took 2 gear sprag out right then and there out of the trans. i ran clutch posi setup when setup right they last my 9 inch ford has the same chutchs in it when it was rebuilt in 1983 its been in two of my cars one tub out gto with a 475 bbc roller engine 13to1 engine and all the engines in my 50 chevy up to a blown 548 bbc and if you think i take it easy on this stuff you are wrong . with chutch set ups .they do not last when they not set up right you could get shims from ford i set them up very tight there fine for staight line use mild street use and week end drag racing .full time drag buy a spool
