I have a 29 tudor sedan with a 4" drop front axel coil overs on the rear. I would like to get it lower . What are my options? I am sure I will need to kick up the frame in the rear for starters. Would air bags be the way to go? On the front the buggy spring comes up to the cross member but there is a few inches above the cross member to the bottom of the radiator. Should I change out the cross member to eliminate this gap?
If it has a stock type front spring, you can gain about an 1" by using a main leaf with a reversed spring eye. Also there are front crossmembers available to drop the front end. I got mine from Speedway.
Another alternative is a monoleaf spring. They have the reverse eyes as BOB described, plus the advantage of one leaf gives another 2" of adjustment potential. They come with a stack of leaf portions about 4" long that can be stacked on either side of the monoleaf center in the clamp area for adjustment.
Look in my gallery at the red '32 roadster, I used a monoleaf on that and it's not all the way down.
