    8'' Ford Rear End

Will a 8'' ford rear end fit under a 39 chevy sedan or what's the best thing to use.

Ford 8" rearends come in many sryles and axle widths, so your best bet is to measure from outside to outside of brake drums on whatever is currently in the car and go to a wreckers with your tape measure----be carefull, because a lot of ford rear ends have unequal length axles, meaning that the pinion is not centered between the wheels.---you definately don't want that, and it is very expensive to have one axle shortened, along with the housing. The 8" will stand up well for normal driving, but one of the things against the 8" is that there are not too many different gear sets available for it. 9" rearends are stronger, and there are many more gear sets available.
