    spring main leaf rebend

My 55 had the rear lowered via the old method heating the main leaf and letting it sag by a prior owner, WAY BAD, WAY WRONG! Now I own the car and plan on replacing both of the rear springs as I have a few sets around. but baby its CCCCOLD out there w a no heat shop and I want to reset the rear car hight to stockso I was thinking of reheating the springs and resetting them to the original hight, NOT to keep you understand just to set rear tire + bumper hights, to see if I want to go reversed eye main leaf or lowering blocks etc. for IN SHOP USE only. I am confident that they would not stay put or even snap after reheating and bending if driven.
The how I got, But what would be the best way- slow cooling or quenching to get them back to stock hight and stay put until I amready to pull them out for replacement(spring)?

Attended my first drag race in 1961 and hooked on cars ever since.
