sorry for my bad English . I need ideas about to place the absorbers in my car, it is a chevrolet 1940 coupe. I have seen images, but I do not deal/understand where they screw/put them (in the top part)

Normally, they fit into a hole in the sheet metal of the floor/wheelwell. Use a large flat washer on each side of the sheet metal to prevent the shock stud from bending the metal. Others may be attached to brackets that are part of the rear frame or a crossmember. Make sure they are halfway between fully extended and fully compressed with the car at ride height when you install them.

I'm thinking he's using "Eyes" at both ends. If it were studs, the mounting points would be very visible. The "eye" style would be mounted on a crossmember at no more than 30 degrees, with 2/3 of travel for compression and 1/3 for rebound.

On my 40 Chevy I used something like THIS, you could easily make one if you had too......joe
Chassis Engineering has a upper shock mount for a 40 Chevy. I used one and it works great. The mount attaches to the frame rails and has holes for shocks to attach at the top. You must use shocks with an eye on each end. Keep us posted....
