I'm currently building a boat-tail speedster (Ford Frontanec style).

I am using one of Speedways T-bucket frames with transverse leaves front and rear. The front suspension is an old 4" Mor-Drop I-beam with Curtis style hairpins.

In the rear I'm using an 8" Ford axle with a T style, reversed eye spring and Curtis style hairpins.

The problem I'm having is that the 10" kick up in the rear isn't quite enough to put the car where I want it (I need about 5" more drop). Rather than cutting up my new frame and increasing the kick up, I am considering under-slinging the rear axle with the spring mounts below and behind the axle housing.

I've seen this done, but I don't know if there are other things to consider, or problems I might run into.

Any help, ideas, suggestions, and especially pictures would be a great help.

THANKS,
Marty
