suicide front end?
Why did this and other variations of solid front axle placement come about?
Was the suicide perch a solution to lower the vehicle, or was the set up also designed to improve drivablility at speed?
thx in advance..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

Not 100 percent sure, but I think I remember reading that one of the first cars to sport a suicide style front end was Norm Grabowski's T. I could be wrong, but that is what I recall Norm saying in some magazine article where he was being interviewed.
I would imagine the reason was to lower the front end. It doesn't make the car handle any better, although it does stretch out the wheelbase a little.
