Well here I go! This is a 40 plymouth 2 door sedan, I have found a fella that can come up with disc brakes for the front, any idea if the front suspension will take the weight of a 383 BB dodge? I have a complete 66 dodge for a doner car eng trans 727 rear ? 40 frame looks stong to me. All ideas are welcome..

I have 48 DeSoto, Chevy front clip, with a 392 Hemi, and no problems. Rides and drives great.

40 dodge
I have a 39 dodge with stock steering and suspension. I am running a small block 318,and it works great. I dont know what the weight differenc is between the 383 compared to a 318.

Years ago I had a '40 Dodge business coupe, 413ci BB, 727, Dana 60 rear. No problems with the front suspension during the time I owned it.
This was a '60's vintage racer that we put back on the street. As a result of it's heritage the front end was probably no heavier than with the original flathead six. Battery was in the trunk, inner fenderwells removed, aluminum intake manifold, tube headers, no bumper/brackets, etc.

Depends on what you want to spend. There are some very nice IFS kits made for your car that would give it a very nice ride height and great brakes and handling!!!!

Where do I find the IFS Kits for this car? I'm trying to get it done in 6 months to take to RENO HOT Auguest Nights My 6 year old is tired of my Stock 61 Rambler American Convertible He wants more noise. ( Me Too) We can't all Fit in My 64 vette,so I gotta do something..

It wouldn't surprise me if the old flathead 6 and the 383 weighed about the same. There was a lot of iron in those old motors.
You're gonna have to light a fire if you're gonna be done in 6 months. It sounds a little too ambitious to me. If you try to hurry it, you're gonna come to hate the car in my opinion.

I don't know the web site, but I expect Fat Mans in Charlotte NC would have what you need. You could go with a Mirada, Cordoba, etc front clip.
