He's right they don't effect the ride height. I have them on my 57. They go between the upper ball joint and upper control arm. I heard the make the car launch harder by displacing the wait. I'm not sure they work. The only reason there on my car is I havent redone the front suspension yet. Dave might be able to shed a little light on them for you, but as far as changing the look or stance of the car it won't happen.
