Probably the reason you aren't getting a lot of responses on this one is because dropping stock axles has become a semi-lost art. There are still some places I'm sure who have a kiln and jigs to do it (Mordrop???) but by and large these have been replaced by reproduced axles like Superbells, etc.
As for the holes, it is a 15 minute job with a drill press and about a 7/8 inch holesaw, so you can do this part of the job yourself. BTW, Model A's are not the best candidate for dropping due to the thinness of the axle, as opposed to '32 and up models, if I remember correctly. But it has been years since I have heard this, and my memory has a few glitches in it lately.:D :D :D

A guy over on the H.A.M.B. website offers an axle dropping service.
