What are you wanting to do to the suspension?? About all you would have to have is a heavier pair of coil springs, that's assuming your front end is in good codition now.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I was going to fix the front end up, by putting in new bushings, sway bar, disc brakes. Is there anything else i should look at? But for the big block i just need a pair of heavier coil springs?

All the other stuff is good to have. Get a set of coil springs for a big-block '72 Chevelle. You can get them through Autozone or most other parts suppliers. The parts #s at Autozone are:
With A/C
FCS5374S (Standard)
FCS5536S (Heavy Duty)
Without AC
FCS5372S
FCS5398SJack

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
