51 f1 leafs on bottom?
ok i have a 51 f1 and want to lower it jsut that little bit, and i know i can flip the axles on to the top of the leafs, the back souldnt be a problem for mounting, but what could i do for a mounting plate for the front axle and leafs?

Changing the springs from on top to below the axel will lower it more than a little. It will lower it the thickness of the axel plus spring. Around 5".
You will have to make a new plate to weld to the bottom of the axel. You probably should remove some of the springs to soften the ride. I have not done this(I always go w/a IFS),but there is noting wrong w/your approach. Hopefully some one that has done this will step forward.Don Meyer, PhD-Mech Engr(48 GMC Trk/chopped/cab extended/caddy fins & a GM converted Rolls Royce Silver Shadow).

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
