So I got bored last night and decided to go ahead and try a spindle swap even without hearing if it was possible or not.

It's not...

The swap alone gave me about a 5.5 inch drop in ride height. The only down side was I couldn't turn anymore. This would be great for going down the interstate... however getting onto or off of it would be nearly impossible.
The problem was the steering bracket bolts were on either side of the upright arm, causing a turning angle of about 5 degrees. yay.

So in case you were wondering if this would work or not. it doesn't. heating and bending the arm would distort from the original shape to much and cause almost certain failure on these vehicles. I guess I'm going to have to buy dropped spindles for the beast.
