If you stay with the stock front suspension you will need to do something with the oil pan. Either the factory front sump or Moroso makes a rear sump in both a street and track version with a notch in it for steering clearance.
Versions like the Heidt system, and there are others too, solve all kinds of problems including the pan and exhaust clearance. They are generally a little lighter too. Most I have seen are a complete bolt in, no welding required. The way Chevy shoulda dun it in the first place.
