hugger headers intefere with steering
I've just installed a mustang II suspension along with a manual rack and pinion. When i was mounting my ceramic coated hugger headers I saw that my steering shaft from my rack went straight to my bottom of my headers. I cant use a support bearing to angle the shaft around the headers because of the suspension upper towers. The only way to gain clearance is to us a late 78 monte carlo exhaust on that side but dont like the look.Is there headers similar to the huggers that are angled in closer to the block.
Header and steering shaft clearance
Just to give you an idea on what I'm working which I'm sure anyone could probably relate is a 1952 chevy bel air hard top. So for I've installed a mustang II ultra low with air bags front end and a parallel four link with the shock wave air bags.I had to notch the front of the frame on both side to gain clearnce for my rack and pinion thus bringing the rack shaft upward and its how I came into the clearance problem with my header. I dont have much room to run my one header on the other side unless i use a different non header exhaust manifold. My question to you all is this: IS there any headers out there that rap closer to the engine block.
