One wants to get just the right rake and then when the interior, glass, tank full of fuel, etc. are installed and the springs settle a little you can end up feeling foolish and have to adjust with tire size or something.
I've built strange and unusual stuff all my life, so I've learned to build in adjustable mounts for stuff like this. Where you will mount the diff, bolt on an adapter piece maybe 2" to 2 1/2" thick and bolt it to the frame member, then bolt the diff to the adapter. If you need it down in the rear, change the adapter for a thinner one. If you need it up in the rear, change the adapter for a thicker one. I always do this when mounting a rack and pinion. I determine where I think it should be, then space it off the crossmember with a 1/4" to 3/8" adapter. That way, I can go thicker or thinner on my adapter to adjust for bump steer if I need to.
