Starter Wires Question
I was reconnecting my starter up when i realize that one of the wires right after the "lil white thing" was stripped off inside of it..
The wire is the one when i connect it up, all my accessories work..lights,radio,electric fan etc.. what i need to know is what is the "lil white cylinder looking thing called" and what is the replacement for it.. it had a number on it but it was worn so bad i couldn't read it.. i have a 79 malibu with a 355 in it..

Ok, a fusable link...now do they come in different sizes..and if so which size do i need? and i assume they are cheap..

You auto parts counter person should be able to tell you which fusible link you need for your car. You will need to solder it in, using crimped connectors is not recommended, it won't work like it is supposed to protect your electrical system.

The "lil white thing" is a factory connector between the fusible link and the main wire. Cut it off as close as you can on the main wire side and toss it out. Then strip, crimp and solder your new fusible link in. Remember to take a battery cable off before working on. Good Luck!!
